Our Story Personal Experience Leads to a Passion to Serve

Always Family is a family-owned business, established due to our personal experience in seeking senior home care services in Alabama and Louisiana for our loved ones – my paternal grandfather, Will Edmond, and my maternal grandmother, Velma Plummer. After 65 years of marriage, my grandfather, a war veteran, had to navigate life independently following the passing of my grandmother. My grandfather grew up in the deep south of Birmingham, Alabama. His most esteemed accomplishment was owning his own home. As he aged, he was determined to continue living independently. However, finding a reliable home care service proved more challenging than anticipated. It took considerable time to locate a service that treated him with compassion, patience, grace, and dignity. This exceptional care enabled him to live independently in his home until the age of 98. My grandmother was known for her heart of gold, often expressed through her Cajun meals such as gumbo, crawfish etouffee, and red beans and rice. At the age of 92, we sought senior care services for her through a nursing home. The transition was particularly difficult during the Covid-19 pandemic.
